I currently teach full time at the prestigious Cincinnati Music Academy for both guitar and banjo. If you're interested in setting up a free Trial Lesson, click here and contact the school directly.

I have always considered myself a lifelong student and am always searching for new techniques, ideas, and methods for better teaching my own students. Having taught at the West Chester Academy of Music, Madeira Music School, and privately, I have years of experience in helping others reach the next tier of their playing, listening, and collaborating. Blending a mix of ear training, sight-reading, improvisation, music theory, I love creating the best combination of topics to enhance your studies and help motivate your drive to practice and achieve.

Testimonials

"Benjamin is a kind, encouraging, and knowledgeable teacher. He is a true professional and relates to all ages. I've learned so much in just a few months!" - Julie Jacobson-Ruby

"We are thrilled to have someone as accomplished as Benjamin working with Sophia, our 8-year old daughter. He's always positive and fun. Sophia says, "He's the best teacher, ever!!!" - Michael Troyer

"I'm grateful for Benjamin's participation in our elementary school's "Music Everywhere" program. The students were dancing in their seats while enjoying his exhilarating Blues Duo. The American history of the Blues that he shared was informative and fun, and they left with a new appreciation for the music. Benjamin is a very engaging and energetic teacher and the students hope he will visit them again next year!" - Sarah Crane, Montgomery Elementary PTO

"Ben has ignited our son's interest and enthusiasm for playing the acoustic guitar! Ben's skillful teaching and ability to relate to his students has helped our son steadily progress in his playing ability. As a parent, I feel that, more importantly, Ben has been an outstanding role model to our adolescent son who loops up to him tremendously."  - Joy Blang

"Benjamin Thomas is an energetic teacher who is enthusiastic about the students as he is about the music. He is knowledgeable not only about guitar techniques but also about the literature of the instrument and uses popular and familiar songs to teach concepts. He presents the guitar in a way that makes the students feel both appropriately challenged and supported." - Zachary Crane, Concert Band and Guitar Teacher at Sycamore High School
